greetings from manly

anyway, I'M IN SYDNEY!
woohoo. in manly.

extract from an email i sent cause i'm too lazy to type what i already typed again :D
:

i'm typing this from the com lab & god i love my room.

its like the closest to the stairs, bathroom & com lab, as well as one of the bigger ones. YAY

HAHA

its [the campus] really pretty and its quite multi-racial. as i speak i have a german next to me and there's an aussie in front of me and a hk guy showed us in.
apparently, its 50% aussie, 20% korean[this part i don't know how true cause it was another year person saying this] and the 30% are a mix.

i hope there are a few sg and malaysians here.
it would be a lot more comforting.

manly is quite a nice place, holiday destination beach type.
its also super ex
$16 for pasta. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN.. and my bank account, along the way. please?

nicole kidman and keith urban got married here[YAY, liwen said hopefully they'll renew their vows soon. omg! how cool would that look on my resume:

graduate of trinity college, university of melbourne [2008]
graduate of ICMS-Macquarie University [20something]

served at renewation of Keith Urban & Nicold Kidman's wedding vows [20something]

HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! definitely not more awesome than me though. :D

i was exploring the place and there's a wedding going on here now. as well as this tree stump thingy which has all these directions of the different countries nailed to it.

i found singapore, 6000 km ++ away, pointing northish.

i blew a kiss in the direction it indicated singapore was in.
for maddy and marianne
for the 9jamers
for the muskeeters
for the friendships made and pleasures shared.
for you

You can close your eyes to things you don’t want to see, but you can’t close your heart to things you don’t want to feel.” - Anonymous

lie, lying, lies

when you've got a hundred years to live, how do you want to spend that precious amount of time?

lies are a lot easier on the ears. and the heart
there's so many things i'd prefer to hear than what i'm hearing now.
i don't think there's an intention to hurt but it sure does. hurts like hell.

haha
there's a bit of irony: truth hurts like hell.

God, you do have a warped sense of humour you know that?

love, your child.

bangkok

i am back from bangkok

I LOVE THAT PLACE.

the stuff is dirt cheap
seriously.

bags cost S$8, dresses S$12.
nice.

anyway, i bought a LOT and this is an extract of my list:

-2 bags [for school]
-2 bags [for going out]
-5 t-shirts
-5 tops
-4 dresses
-6 hairbands
-2 necklaces
-2 belts

and other random things like cool colour changing clocks and underwear. and my very pretty manicure. :D

anyway, since it was a shopping trip, just me and mum, we didn't see much of bangkok except for the interiors of shopping malls but this is what i observed

- the people love the king. like seriously. there's posters of him everywhere and this taxi driver put up a bumper sticker that said long live the king when he could have earned money by advertising some company.
- food is value for money. the tom yum soup was filled with prawns[very fresh], mussels and other seafood and it was like damn cheap. we paid S$12 for the meal which in ying thai[melb.] would have cost at least double that.
-shopping is good. international brands are equally expensive but local brands like lingerie company Wacoal [made in thailand] the price is lowered alot. like S$20 for the most ex. design. Heck lot of fakes at street shops and shopping malls. and piracy seems to be legal there. pirated dvds own proper shops in reputable malls. its like WTH??!! anyway, there's this place called platinum wholesale centre. its REALLY wholesale. people will go there with trolley bags and order 20 pieces of the same design and sell it elsewhere. it is crazy, comparable to a wetmarket in the morning. oh. and the best thing is they give discount if you buy 3 pieces from an individual stall. so for once, my mum is telling me buy more! instead of stop spending your parents' money can?
-i only saw 4 transversites there. well, they're very pretty and tall and omg, you would NEVER guess that they were once men. and the way they dress is very tasteful.
-and there should be a term for thai girls who like caucasians only. like SPG but in a thai context. cause there's so many of them

and that sums up my 4day 3 night stay in bangkok, thailand. Land of a thousand smiles. :D

p.s. there's no fbts there!!! since fbt stands for football thailand, why is there no fbts?! where are they coming from?! *looks at the fbts i'm wearing and wondering about its heritag.. oh. its made in thailand. so why is it not sold there?!?!

p.p.s. the thais are conning us. the best rice, they keep for themselves.

p.p.p.s. i sneaked a look at the price of condoms cause it reminded me of something posted on talkingcock.com:

One day, our beloved Senior Minister went to Thailand and had lobster for dinner with the Thai King. After SM had finished, he asked the King....

SM: Your Highness, what can you do with this lobster shell?
King : We cannot do anything with it, we just throw it away.
SM: Oh, no. In our country, we send it to the factory and produce prawn crackers.

Then SM had an orange. After he had finished, he asked the King.
SM: What can you do with the orange skin?
King : We cannot do anything. We just throw it away.
SM: Oh, no. In Singapore, we send it to the factory and produce orange jam.

Then SM asked for some chewing gum. After he had finished, he put it on the plate and asked the King.
SM: What can you do with the chewing gum?
King: Oh, no. We just throw it away.
SM: In Singapore, we send it to the factory to produce condoms and then send it to Thailand.

SM was about to leave but then the King asked him...
King: What do you do with the condom when you finish using it?
SM: We cannot do anything. We just throw it away.
King: In Thailand, when we finish using the condom, we send it to the factory to produce chewing gum and then send it back to Singapore!!!

And that is the reason why chewing gum is banned in Singapore.

anyway, back to the price of comdoms, its S$2. So does that mean its recycled?! because i check online and the price is like $5. so maybe that's why its so cheap!

dec 08

personally, i don't see what's so great about this but: happy new year.

anyway, i've done the following during the holiday:[so far]

dec 08:[chronological order]
-watch season 1 of prison break
-meet up with kaii, cherm and kor for lunch
-see optometrist
-dinner with grandparents [hanabi has gotten worse. not worth $ now]
-renew passport at US embassy. [they are freakin paranoid and dumb. the bloody thing is a fortress with bulletproof glass and walls so damn thick, but they couldn't detect that my dad was carrying his handphone when he passed through the metal detector.]
-meet up with manda [seoul garden]
-look for my sister's outfit for uncle's wedding
-dinner + sleepover with auntie esther
-see everyone at church
-lunch with rachel + hunt for $20 dress [LOVE IT]
-met up with THE FOUR MUSKEETERS and watched manda carol & drew our wishes on balloons & sakae sushi buffet
-christmas dinner with cousins.[uber-unglam photos are on facebook. sigh]
-attended uncle barry's wedding[very nice wedding and isabella's dress was really nice]
the girls took alot of pictures and i guess it was nice to see all the extended family. we're all so big now. i mean, most of the cousins are taller than me and its nice i guess, to see that we still can talk so much even though i see them only once a year.
-see parent's friends
basically sleep, eat and use computer.
