the 7jam are at 118a hillcrest road now... PLAYING WITH THE WII.
and licka just about pwns everyone at tennis. SIGH
nevermind, what i lack in skill, i make up for in intelligence :) i don't think i'm smart. i know it.
got songs from maddy, 2 that i find hilarious. i am cow and PM Lee's speech remix. whoever did the remix is super brave. and sick minded.
anyway, 7jam [or rather 6am since rachel isn't here] is having a tennis match, elimination style. i think i will get out in the first round.

nothing to do
i could get used to this lifestyle.
which is currently going out, shopping and basically spending my parents money.
no wonder so many people don't want to get married and move out of their parent's home despite being 30 something...

too many changes
today was an eventful day.
went to visit my grandma. she's still cool, telling me to get a chinese boyfriend[i assured her i would] and still looks the same.
went to collect my school grad cert from mg, i work so hard[ok, not that hard] for 4 years and all i get are 8 pieces of paper?! and 2 are blank! sigh mann
anyway, stayed on for gb. what can i say? standard of drill's dropping, discipline's getting slacker and the numbers are fewer AND the new principal's scrapping the parade for founders day [?!] yes. no marchpast no colours party and not even a GOH. but i still love you my juniors![teng, les, cassie, jie, yuenie, angie, grace, bina, phoebe, esther etc.]
OH and when i was waiting for teng, leaning against the doorframe of her classroom, i heard 2 girls talking to each other in chinese! my gosh! what is mg coming to mann? CHINESE?!
which reminds me, grace told me that the level of prettiness is dropping like hell. as the levels go by. you know why? its because they're raising the cut off point for the affiliated people! i scrapped a decent 240 and i can safely say that my level, whose cut off point was 200, did VERY well in the o levels. WHY raise the damn thing? otherwise all these nerds/cheenapoks will come flooding in mg and dilute our culture!
and apparently, the new principal wants to change the uniform too! you can't do that! it was voted the 2nd nicest uniform in singapore in 2007 AND its been unchanged since 1922[i kid you not.] HOW can you get rid of such an essential part of mgs history and such a pretty thing?!
too many changes for an old person like me...
i rant. i'm sorry
but yeah, in short so many changes. and its only been 6 months since i really left gb and mg.

on the mrt...
i was on the mrt to meet kaii. i was standing and facing people who were sitting down. the mrt stopped and the guy sitting down in front of me got up and left. i was about to sit down when the woman standing beside me suddenly got to the seat before me. so i was not too happy with that because i had just walked quite a fair bit and i was drained from the humidity and the heat of singapore, of which i was not adjusted to yet[its winter in melbourne now] and was thinking uncharitable thoughts like no wonder she's plump, she sits down so much and that seat was mine!
yes, not very nice of melissa lim. i know.
anyway, what happened next was very nice. she suddenly stood up and gestured towards this old man clinging onto the railing to take her seat.
a lot of people say that singaporeans are rude and selfish. but we definitely have the capacity to be nice.

grace and kaya toast
saw grace today. GRACE AIK! you're still as much of a bimbo and of a bitch as ever. except maybe you're a tad more vulgar but oh well. haha, love you the way you are! and yes, life updates will be sent. yes? haha. we're both stuck in similar situations...
i also met up with cherm and kaii. kaii looked so nice in her heels and dress! cherm looked like she was going to the beach. haha. had ya kun kaya toast yay. :)
i saw ms chew[my ballet teacher] and a family friend today at raffles city. ms chew still looks SO young and her figure is to die for considering she's given birth to a son and she's not young. i hope that when i grow older, i will have half as nice a body as her's.
and so it begins... i don't know how to deal with it. i'm just going to let things be. Give me the strength and the wisdom to do the right thing. Let me have the discernment to be sensible and not to repeat my mistake. God, help me.

HOME
I'M BACK
guess what the first food i ate was?
fried egg with oysters. :D
HAPPY HAPPY ME.
haha. its one of my favourite foods and i really really missed it in melbourne.
i'm going to be so busy for the next 2 weeks. or rather the next 10 days.
i want to meet so many of my friends cause i won't be able to see them for the next 6 months.
there have been changes since i last came. my home now has a wii [total unfairness. i never even had a gameboy, let alone a playstation]. the restaurant nearby [near lana's] is being converted into something else. singapore's food prices have risen up like wow. i mean the otak i bought was $1 from the hawker centre. usually its $0.80?
its so quiet! i'm used to the opening and closing of doors, the screaming, the sound of the footsteps, but most importantly, the laughing. when jiayang, kaii and i were saying bye to the people flying on the 29th by MAS at the gate, i felt kind of sad, even though i was happy i was going home. On the night of 28th when quite a few people had already left, i thought i would enjoy the lack of noise at 2 am when i was trying to sleep but all i heard when i went to bed was white noise. white noise so loud i started to tap my ear to make it go away. but it wouldn't.

singaporeans... sigh
HAHA. i found this on a facebook group entitled YOU KNOW YOU'RE FROM SINGAPORE WHEN:
1) You speak or randomly break out in Singlish
2) You crave chicken rice or the various uberlicious hawker foods
3) Tying a soccer game with Malaysia actually means something significant
4) You’re a guy and have no choice about National Service
5) You start daydreaming about $2 Nasi Lemaks
6) Orchard Road is a byword for fun
7) You pronounce and spell stuff the Brit way
8) You pick up the trash after missing the rubbish bin
9) You say rubbish bin and not trash can
10) You end ALMOST every sentence with a 'lah'/'lor'/'hor' and everything looks much better with 'x's and 'z's (right horxxzzz?) [to me its disgusting but oh well, its part of the singlish culture]
11) You understand all the references in www.talkingcock.com (and find the site funny)
12) You're intimidated by the thought of a 45 minutes to drive to the nearest mall. [my gosh, when i first was told i have to take a tram to the suburbs to eat good food i nearly fainted]
13) You're shocked that your ez-link doesn’t work at Mcdonald's around the world
14) People ask you what you speak at home and you say 'uhh...'
15) You are able to communicate in plethora of languages & dialects
16) Swearing in numerous languages & dialects is natural
17) You know that Newton Circus serves up shit food, but still go there anyway[i find it ok what. the first thing i did when i landed in april was to go there for supper]
18) You “chope” seats at food courts/hawker centers with little tissue packets[haha. what my mum did was to use us as parking tickets and chopers while she left the car or went to buy stuff]
19) You've sung the national anthem since you were in primary 1 and still have no idea what it really means
20) There's always a traffic jam near a vehicle accident 'cause everyone slows down to copy numbers for 4D
21) You start using abbreviations for everything, such as ERP, PIE, MRT, SBS, SMS, CTE, IPPT, NCC, SOC(army word)...... and many more.
22) You look at someone (when you’re overseas) and a 6th sense tells you that they’re from Singapore too [oh my gosh. SO TRUE now that i'm in melbourne. i can totally tell a singaporean, a malaysian, an indo, a hong konger and a china person apart. even though we all have the same skin colour and small eyes, although the honkies have quite large ones... at least comparatively]
23) Someone asks for the time and your innate response is: “IT’S TIGER TIME!!!” *rawr*
24) Every Christmas, Orchard Road looks more like and more like Deepavali (The Festival of Lights). [ haha. get me as a designer! i'll make it nice!]
yup so things that characterise singaporeans, that i will get to see in 2 days time!
