eap exam & missing words from dictionary!

EAP is crap

like total crap. the whole essay was just copy and paste from the extracts they gave us.

this is the first time i've witten an essay in exam conditions and not feel rushed. WE HAD 3 HOURS TO DO THE DAMN THING. 700 words! i had to ask the examiner whether there was a word limit cause the instructions said to write about 700 words. i think i wrote about 1000? not too sure... anyway, i had this much time:

sleep for the first half an hour.
stone for the next 10 mins
read the passage 3 times
actually pick up my pencil and half plan half stone for 15mins
do the actual essay
vet the damn thing for mistakes TWICE
leave half an hour early

THAT IS TOO MUCH TIME MANN. but i'm not complaining :) at least better than rushing like mad.

oh and because we were writing on the subject of what clothes say about you, i used the example of branded goods. so i wrote something like 2 business women, the one on the left with a brandless handbag, a suit that resembles the one you saw on discount at myers, and ordinary court shoes, whereas the one on the right has a discrete FENDI on her handbag, a well fitting business suit with her intials stiched on her breastpocket, and this is where i got stuck. i forgot how to spell salvatore ferragamo shoes! so, because we are allowed to bring in our dictionaries, i opened my trusty cambridge dictionary and flipped to both sal... and ferr... and they didn't have it! so, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE PUT THOSE HARD TO SPELL DESIGNERS' NAMES IN DICTIONARIES! i had to settle for writing down chanel shoes. but i don't think chanel produces officey shoes.

SIGH. anyway, its over. i'm going to do my lit essay from 11 to 3 am tonight, my brain works best then...
